Cymer is a publicly traded, fast growing high technology company that had not previously conducted a formalized IT risk assessment. Network Vigilance developed a comprehensive scope that addressed the entire enterprise, include a highly distributed multi-country remote work force, extensive laboratories filled with electronic equipment that was network enabled, requirements for Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance and lack of defined processes for governance and risk management.

Monterey Financial Services is a medium sized debt collection and credit management organization that deals extensively with confidential and sensitive information. Their goal was to become PCI compliant as well as implement ISO 27001 standards and Best Practice and to begin the process by conducting a formal risk assessment. (ASHI identified the need for an IT Security Assessment as part of their overall risk assessment for HIPAA compliance. The company’s management determinted that using a 3rd party to conduct a security assessment would allow them to have a source of independent validation of their security posture and determine whether their security practices and internal controls were adequate and sound.
